Dancorcism is a unique healing modality;
A practice of living in love and celebrating life together.
Created by Debbie Attias in 2012, Dancorcism is the culmination of her experience as a performer with Avenue D, her group that toured the world in the ‘00s, and her current practice as a healer.

“WOWWWW that was so incredibly fun — I was having a gloomy day (gloomy week, if I’m being honest) and Dancorcism got me in a place of joy...and dare I say, hope?!”
-Mollie F.

Dancorcism has also been an interactive stage performance at venues like House of Yes and the Merriweather Post Pavilion; festivals like the NYC Dance Parade and the Fringe Festival in Perth, Australia; a class for performance students at NYU; as well as an experience in natural locations like the Ocala National Forest and remote islands in Greece and Panama. It also includes a music video, which debuted alongside an art show of soft sculptures at The Hole Gallery in Tribeca.
When the world shifted during Covid-19, Dancorcism became an online dance happening–a way to find togetherness and support beyond the screen. During this time, it also became a vehicle for activism, dancing with Joy to the Polls and raising funds for voter rights, bail funds, community organizations and more.
The Dancorcism Training takes the practice deeper, offering a transformative course of self-discovery paired with an illustrated book, music album, and a growing global community of Dancorcistes.

“Dancorcism, has gotten me through some of the darkest times (Pulse nightclub shooting, Trump’s election, Bowie’s death, Covid-19) You have to experience the class for yourself. All I can say is it is much more than dance. It is energy work and it brings you so much joy. I smile through the whole thing and sometimes cry.”
-Kirin W.
I loved this class so much. Debbie is DIVINE. I left feeling energized, light and completely relaxed.

“I was someone who never ever ever danced at parties as I grew too shy. This class helped me free up those old patterns. I never thought I could move in certain ways... thank you for helping to open the door!!! ”
